One of the biggest changes that happened as 2013 came to a close was the retirement of Dr. James C. King, the previous blogger here. Jim spent 25 years at Adobe working tirelessly on various technologies though most people closely associate him with his work on PDF, and helping to shepherd it from Adobe to open standardization within the ISO.
I’ve worked closely with Jim for many years including being part of his team that turned Adobe PDF into ISO 32000. And was honored in 2010 when he transferred his PDF Architect title and responsibilities to me. So with his retirement, I will try to fill his shoes on this blog as well.
With work on PDF 2.0 (ISO 32000-2) coming to a close, it will be an exciting year for PDF and I look forward to spending it with you.
